2017 marks the 14th anniversary of Small Business Advice Week. Small and medium sized businesses make up 99% of all businesses in the UK, but with international conglomerates constantly grabbing the headlines, Small Business Advice Week is shining the light on the unsung backbone of the UK economy.
With Article 50 sending shock-waves through the industry, more than ever SMEs need advice on how to optimise their enterprises. 92% of the UK’s SMEs are trading within the EU single market, and over a fifth (21%) of Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) members employ EU citizens within the UK, making this a pivotal moment for many of these businesses.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW) will be hosting the highly-anticipated Small Business Advice Week seminar on Thursday 31st August, with industry leaders providing insight and advice to the UK’s SME sector.

Small Business Advice Week is here to help the UK’s 4.5 million SMEs, with a record number of partners on board to provide insight and guidance for the times ahead.
The theme for 2017 is ‘Growth and Productivity’, which no business can afford to ignore. This year’s key partners include The Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales, EDF Energy, Ratesetter, XLN, Kashflow, 9Spokes, and Barracuda.

It will be hosted by Finance and Business Journalist of The Year Georgie Frost, who will lead a lively discussion and welcome questions from the audience for all the experts involved.
This year’s Small Business Advice Week seminar event will be held on Thursday 31st August at the ICAEW Headquarters, One Moorgate Place, London EC2R 6EA.
The event runs from 8:30am until 11am and kicks off Small Business Advice Week itself.
